Starting Salary: $19.67-$20.90

Our Mission: We strive to enhance the quality of life for Edmond residents and visitors through the practice of professional planning. 

The Work:

  • Assist with the Housing and Community Development Manager with oversight of the CDBG program, managing federal regulations, and monitoring projects.
  • Working with the City of Edmond’s transit provider to offer transportation opportunities for residents and visitors of Edmond.
  • Ensuring programs related to Federal and State programs are maximized to serve citizens of Edmond and performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Working with social service agencies to provide a variety of services ranging from rental and utility assistance to technology and clothing for school children.
  • This person will immediately get to help with:
    • All Community Development Block Grant Programming
    • Edmond’s Public transit program, Citylink – including implementation of an updated Transit Plan
    • Supporting community outreach and programming to strengthen neighborhoods
    • Increasing the diversity and affordability of housing options in areas of Edmond
    • Creating new or increasing programming in focus areas within the CDBG Area

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge equivalent to four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college. Plus 3 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier.
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in public administration, planning, or business.
  • Preferred specialized training specific to CDBG
  • Preferred Federal or State grant experience.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must have skill in the use of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to pass extensive background process and pre-employment screenings.
